ID: 60461419 Shift: 11:00 PM-7:30 AM Description: Facility Specific Requirement:Cannot accept local candidates that live within 50 miles of the facility.This position accurately applies ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis, including skills required in performing a variety of technical procedures, resulting in the highest quality diagnostic radiograph, with the least amount of radiation exposure to the patient. Responsibilities (25%) *Performs radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures utilizing accurate application of ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis.(25%) * Positions patient and equipment appropriately to accurately demonstrate the area being examined, requiring extensive anatomic positioning skills.(25%) * Provides appropriate radiation protection for patient and staff during radiation exposures according to prescribed safety standards.(25%) *Adjusts technical factors to provide appropriate exposure by use of independent judgment, knowledge of human anatomy, effect of disease on the radiograph and the principles of radiation as well as the specific operation of all radiologic equipment within the department. OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Assists radiologist as needed in performance of sterile procedures, i.e., biopsies, myelograms, etc.Performs surgical and portable radiographic procedures as assigned.Performs nursing procedures, including the preparation and administration of various forms of radiologic contrast media and medications, and catheterizations.Has knowledge to readily identify and treat allergic reactions to contrast media.Practices sterile technique. Maintains professional acumen through active association with professional organizations.Shows evidence of continuing education in radiography as necessary to remain current with profession.Attends in-service educational programs and departmental meetings.Initiates requisitions, adds or modifies charges, acknowledges exams, requiring the use of the computer.Ability to recognize and report malfunction of radiographic equipment appropriately.All other duties as assigned.
