We are currently hiring for a Full-Time Dentures Dental Technician for Nu-Art Dental Lab.


This key position will work Monday-Friday. This full-time position features employee benefits including health, dental, vision, and company-paid life insurance; paid holiday and vacation time; 401K with company contribution and more!

 

The Technician primary function is to maintain and improve patients’ oral health by fabricating fixed and removable prostheses according to Doctor’s prescriptions.


  

Essential Functions

  • Replaces partial or total loss of natural teeth by constructing partial or full dentures (metal and non-metal).
  • Waxes set teeth to completion before processing.
  • Corrects dental irregularities by manufacturing fixed or removable appliances.
  • Replaces missing facial and body tissues due to injury, disease, or developmental abnormality by fabricating maxillo-facial prostheses.
  • Constructs prostheses by following the dentist's prescription; making models of the mouth and teeth from impressions of the patient's mouth taken by the dentist; building-up wax replicas of part or all of the mouth and/or teeth on the model;      encasing the wax in a mold material and melting away the wax; replacing the wax with plastic, metal, or ceramic materials to make the replacement appliance; polishing and finishing the appliance prior to its being placed in the patient's mouth by the dentist.
  • Documents actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records.
  • Utilizes and conserves supplies and equipment by completing plaster casting, wax modeling, wire bending, electroplating, and      sandblasting; using CAD/CAM units; maintaining supplies inventories; keeping equipment operating.
  • Improves quality results by studying, evaluating, and re-designing processes, implementing changes.
  • Updates dental laboratory  technician job knowledge and skills by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
  • Enhances dental laboratory reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
  • Relies on technical knowledge to make  decisions and accomplish departmental goals.
  • Performs other related duties and projects as business needs require at direction  of management.
Requirements

Education and Experience:

  • Basic dental training.
  • Prior dental experience or background, a plus.
  • Previous experience working in positions that require hand and finger dexterity, a plus

Physical Requirements

  • Sitting - Sitting Continuous for 8+ hours
  • Standing - Standing. Particularly for sustained periods of time
  • Bending - Bending or stooping continuously for 8+ hours
  • Lift/Push/Carry - Must be able to lift, push, and carry up to 15lbs
  • Vision - The worker is required to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned.

Additional Physical Requirements

  • Crouching. Bending the body downward and forward by bending leg and spine, 8+ hours
  • Repetitive motion. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers, pinch, grasp.
  • Able to use hand tools with repetitive vibration and manual dexterity.

Work Conditions

  • Must be able to wear personnel protective equipment for tasks requiring them.
  • The worker is subject to vibration, exposure to oscillating movements of the extremities or whole body.
