Position Summary:

The MRI Technologist provides highly skilled performance and supervision of all MRI studies.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operate MRI equipment and contrast injector.
  • Work 5 days a week. Standard working hours. Occasional overtime as needed
  • Document setup parameters.
  • Inform patients and family members about the procedure and answer questions.
  • Perform quality control procedures.
  • Train new personnel and students on the proper performance of MRI studies.
  • Assists with other duties as assigned.
  • Comply with all New York Proton Center policies related to Privacy Rules established under the Health Information Privacy and Portability Act of 1996 (HIPAA)


Qualifications:

Education:

  • Must be a graduate of a JCERT accredited program in MRI Technology.
  • Must be certified and registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in MR.
  • Must be licensed by the New York State Department of Health as a radiologic technologist.
  • Must be certified in Basic Life Support CPR. 

Experience:

  • Two or more years of clinical experience preferred.

The salary range and/or hourly rate displayed is a determination of base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.  NYPC takes into consideration several factors in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skillset, experience and training, licensure and certifications, internal equity and other business and organizational needs.
